Gloomy Sunday. San Francisco fog just settles over everything like a big, misty blanket. Its actually a  nice change from all the sunny weather lately. I must be crazy, right? Choosing the fog over the sunshine, which we get so little of in the first place. Its because I've got a bit of a sniffle, and since its foggy, I don't feel so obligated to go outside and soak up the sun, as I would if it were a sunny day.

So, since its already halfway through the year, I thought I'd play catch-up for a bit and share some new experiences and things I've done in the previous months.

In January, I spent some quality time with L and her fam in beautiful Sonora. I love this girl. In 2010, we met roughly a week before we were leaving to study abroad in wonderful, amazing, breathtaking Australia! We spent a year there studying and sightseeing and becoming best friends.

In February, I went down to San Diego to help my family with their restaurant opening.

 I also bought this baby!

Sadly this also happened. My first accident ever. A big bag someone had failed to tie down in the back of their pick-up truck came flying out of their truck bed and got sucked right up under my car. In Los Angeles traffic. It was scary. It was only a rental car though. Not all experiences will be good ones.

I got a second job! Then I quit my second job. If I know more about managing than the manager does, then that place is not right for me.

Then this happened!
I'm a certified Bartender!

And right after I got my bartending certificate, I broke my rib. So all the fun and games and experiences were put on hold for a few weeks until I got my mobility back.

My best friend and I ended up in the Kaskade Freaks of Nature DVD!

Then I got 3 more tattoos, and mom got her first! This girl, Sarah, is an amazing artist and tattoo artist.

Then my youngest sister graduated high school! Congrats T!

Someone let me bartend their private party...everything went better than expected!

Lastly, my most recent experience was taking a Go-Go dancing class with my friends. Beyond fun!

I can't wait to see what life throws at me next!

New. Nuevo. Nouveau.

2013. The year of new things. As midnight approached on December 31st , 2012, I sat at home contemplating the new year. What was this year going to be like? What resolution(s) will I let myself think I will stick to, only to abandon the idea two weeks into the year? Exercising, eating healthy, and being more financially responsible…ideas just rolled in and out of my head, not really taking root. Every idea that passed through seemed like a great resolution for the New Year, but there was a voice buried somewhere that kept saying, “Those are things you should be doing anyway”. I needed something new, something challenging. Then it hit me. New. New Year. New things. 2013 was going to be my year of doing new things.

Something new I’ve wanted to do for some time was start a blog. Particularly a food based blog. So here I am. Starting a blog. Six months into the New Year. Better late than never, right?

I suck at writing and I suck at taking decent photos. I have some friends that can manipulate simple words into pages of ideas that can make you question your knowledge of life and other friends, who not only see beauty in what I cannot, but they can capture that beauty on film or on canvas (or these days, digitally. Psssh, technology). Hopefully I can learn from them. But for now, we're all stuck with my amateur photography and sub-par writing skills. I've got to start somewhere, even if that somewhere is the bottom. Challenge accepted.
